We
arrived early for our visit with Kathy and Jerry because we
had learned that a friend from Hawaii was living nearby. We
had gotten her address (a post office box number) a week before, but no one had a phone
number for her. We sent her a postcard, including our phone
number, and checked regularly for messages, but we didn't
hear from her.

With a
lot of assistance from friendly small-town people, we were
able to get together with Judy. She spent the night in the RV,
then we spent the next day touring the redwood country, and
of course, had another of our "Tahoe picnics"!

We really
have to remember to pack cups next time!

Judy
almost got a ticket when we stopped in the road (on the wrong
side!)
to watch this magnificent elk. The officer looked at her
Hawaii license plates and driver's license, and just gave her
a warning. A little aloha goes a long way!

Not too
much further down the road, we saw this herd of elk.
This time we pulled off the road to watch them!
